this is my first ever granny square. how did i go so long without making one?
i used this tutorial from martha stewart, but you could also use this one from the purl bee. there’s also plenty of other variations around the web.

DIY Stamped Word Pendants. How to use cheap letter and number punch sets on charms (I’ve posted sayings on washers using this same method). You see these charms on Etsy and other places but may not have realized how cheap these punch sets are at Michaels, Hobby Lobby or especially Harbor Freight (under $12 and sometimes much cheaper). Rose Napkin Tutorial! (tutorial)
To create the leaves:
- Fold a square napkin on a diagonal
- Then fold in half along the diagonal
- Fold in half again
To create the rose:
- Use a square napkin of any color and fold the fabric in half along the diagonal. Put it on a flat surface so that the larger side is on top and then fold the corner opposite to the upper side, taking care the edges are parallel.
- Fold back the bottom-up napkin in half and wrap a napkin from one end to the other side.
- Place the flower top and bottom halves of the leaves.
- Finish in the glass.

DIY No Sew T-Shirt Refashion. Really easy way to take a boxy boys’ or mens’ T-shirt and make it wearable. Tutorial from Fine & Feathered here. *If you wanted to you could roll the raw collar edge and hem or tack it down.
Transform that awkward oversized tee you only wear to bed into something cool ! With scissors and a few inches of sewing, you can practically remake the silhouette of the shirt. This is a great solution for an ill-fitting tee with a cool graphic on the front.
